Ngari Regional House (mnga’ ris khang tshan) is locked up and is not in active use. The building is in a state of disrepair. The temple portico appears to contain murals that are very old, but they have been splattered with white paint. Ngari Regional House has no perimeter wall at present, and it is unclear whether it ever had one. If not, it would be the only regional house that was not enclosed by such a wall. The architecture is unusual in other ways. For example, the regional house temple appears to be on the ground floor, something that, once again, we find in no other regional house.
