The largest st?pa at Sera (se ra) is the Samlo Chöten (bsam lo mchod rten), so called because it belongs to the Samlo Regional House (bsam lo khang tshan). Its dates are unknown, but it is certainly more than fifty years old, possible much older. The outside of the st?pa was partially destroyed, and has since been rebuilt, but the contents are all original. The st?pa is popular with laypeople, who enjoy circumambulating it.
