The official, full name of this apartment compound is bod pa bkra shis khang gsar (lit. “Tibetan Good Luck New House”). It contained the residence of Böpa Trülku (bod pa sprul sku) on the third story, northwest corner, painted yellow. This compound provided living quarters for monks of Hamdong Regional House (har gdong khang tshan). Most of the buildings are original and intact, except for the lama’s residence (bla brang), which has been renovated by the present disciplinarian (dge skos) of Sera (se ra), who uses this as his living quarters.
