This is one of two apartment houses that belong to the Bati Regional House (sba ti khang tshan). It is located just below the J� College assembly hall (grwa tshang byes �du khang) between two sets of stairs. Because of this, to conform to the change in elevation, the building is terraced. It is also unusual in that it is a perfectly freestanding building, with no enclosures, courtyards or perimeter wall.
