Title: U-W College Year in Nepal
Alternate title: U-W Madison Study Abroad Program in Nepal

Description: The premiere undergraduate study abroad program for the Tibetan and Nepali languages. The one calendar year-long program begins in Madison with a 10-week summer language intensive in either Tibetan or Nepali. The students then fly to Kathmandu, Nepal, where they spend the first semester living with host families and attending 4 hours of language class daily at the U-W program house. During the second semester students pursue a research project, which usually takes them out of Kathmandu and into the villages and monasteries of the Himalayas. The language instruction staff is first rate and the administration is very experienced and conscientious of students' needs.
