Title: Tibetan Nuns Project

Description: In 1987 the Tibetan Nuns Project was founded to provide basic humanitarian aide to refugee nuns from Tibet. Food, clothing, housing, and basic medical care were organized and now over 500 nuns are sponsored by the Tibetan Nuns Project. This site contains profiles of several nunneries in India, detailing each one's curriculum, economy, and history. Hyperlinked to each nunnery is an touching portrait of a nun. From these one will learn about the hardship faced by nuns from both traditional Tibetan society and the communist government.
