These Vir Khamba were erected by various persons and often state the name of national heroes who contributed to the nation and society as a whole. The study focuses on the Baitadi, Bajhang, Doti, Dadeldhura, Achham, Jumal, and Dailekh districts of western Nepal, which possess many of the memorial pillars, or Vir Khambas.
