Description:
The article discusses contraceptive use and its determinants in a sub-urban community. The study area is the Mahankal panchayat, which is one of the 33 panchayats of the Kathmandu district located in the north-east corner of Kathmandu valley. The article presents the results of detailed analysis of the couples adopting various forms of contraceptive devices. All the information was collected during the field research activity of the family health project, IOM under a UNFPA fund, and is supplemented by additional information on family types and contraception history.
