Status Report on the Tibetan Participatory Knowledge Project
Last Updated: August 11, 2008
The Tibetan Participatory Knowledge Project involves training Tibetans to Tibetans from various walks of life - school children, nomads, young women, monks, typical village residents, and others - to use a variety of technologies to document and represent their own traditions, places, and perspectives. This may involve self-made video documentaries, community mapping, photography, or other such work. At present the initiative is well under way with multiple projects, but we have not yet launched the Web site presenting the initiative's plans nor its ongoing results. We plan to do so by the end of 2008.
If this status report appears out of date, please contact us at to request an update, and we will do promptly. Limited staff resources and many projects will sometimes mean activity outstrips documentation.
