360º Panoramas of Sera Monastery in Tibet
Outside Three Important Regional Houses
Image Panning: Hold left mouse button down and drag left or right.
Zoom In/Out: Use the Shift & Ctrl keys on your computer keyboard.
You are facing north. Zoom out and you will see the mountains to the north of Sera. The building directly ahead of you is Metsang Regional House (me gtsang khang tshan). Now pan to the right. The very long building you see is one of the most important regional houses of Jé College, Lawa Regional House (lwa ba khang tshan). Continue panning right and you will see an empty field. Before 1959, this area was completely filled with monastic residences and regional houses. (If you zoom in you can barely make out the outline of the Potala in the distance.) If you continue to pan right, you will come first to the exterior courtyard wall and then to the temple of Gungru Regional House (gung ru khang tshan).
