In the Anterior Courtyard (rdo gcal) of the Great Assembly Hall (tshogs chen)

Zoom out, and you will see the front portal of the Great Assembly Hall (tshogs chen), the largest of Sera’s temples. Pan right and you will see the kitchen (tshogs chen gyi rung khang), a separate building next to the assembly hall. To the right of that is the western wall of the Ngari Regional House (mnga’ ris khang tshan). Continuing to the right one sees a “flagpole” (dar chen), found in all of the courtyards of the large temples. To the right of the flagpole is the Ngari Apartment Compound (mnga’ ris spyi khang).
